Mark and I were attending a Search retreat, the Catholic Youth retreat program that my daughter Tara and her husband Craig are involved with. Pauline wrote me this, "Dear Cheryl, I am happy to write a letter letting you know how I feel about you. The first time I met you I was taken by your welcoming smile and everytime we meet, your warm smile is like a ray of sunshine. Your friendship has been a mainstay for me during the relatively short time we've been friends and I have grown to love you very much. Your honesty, sincerity and earnest caring have been a support I have enjoyed as well as watched while others received the same from you. You're always there to support anyone in need without compromising your own personal integrity. I admire your courage to speak your own mind and be true to yourself without the expectation of others to fulfill you ideals. I love our gatherings of women and look forward to more special times as our group continues. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for your growth and development this special weekend. Love Pauline"
I believe that what we recognize in someone else is most often true about ourselves. Thank you Pauline. I love you too. |
