Ss won high
honors (the best you can get) on Golden State for Algebra. I told him he
had to wear long pants, and a shirt that's not a tshirt. He didn't
have any. I said, "What? What about what you wore at 8th
grade graduation?" He said it's at his mom's.
*shaking my
head* I knew what was going on. When my ex was with the well off
girlfriend, they wouldn't buy the girls clothes but they would complain
that the clothes I bought the girls didn't fit their lifestyle. Finally
they gave it up, bought the girls church clothes for their new habit of
delivering First Communion to the elderly as a family, but wouldn't let
the girls take the clothes to their mom's house (me) cuz "She
doesn't know how to take care of good clothes." By the time
my ex exercised the next visitation, the clothes didn't fit the girls.
S's awards
ceremony was thu nt. Bm wasn't there - she doesn't like driving an hour
after work at night. She told ss
to bring his award with him to her home this weekend. I replied to ss
that I'd already mailed her a copy.
Bm shows
up this morn with a manila folder waiting for the award. Ss,
already out the door, replies with what I told him last night. She's pissed.
I realized this morning that I never saw ss's 8th grade
graduation
certificate. I sat and thought about it. Dh had to be out of town,
and I
handled difficult bm and her parents well. My girls helped ss trade back
his
gown for his certificate, and then he must have shown it to his mom and I
didn't even notice.
Just yesterday I learned that ss is supposed to start a scholarship folder
in
career center. It requires a copy of all present and future awards.
If she attends future awards shows, we were talking about how to ensure
she
doesn't squire away the certificate.
At first dh was saying she can look at it, but if she insists on keeping
it
he'll make a huge scene til she returns it.
I pointed out that wouldn't work with her.
We came up with that we'll tell her ss needs it for his scholarship packet
and other school stuff, and we'll mail her a copy. If she insists on
looking at it, she doesn't "look" at it unless she agrees
to giving it back after looking at it.
Otherwise we'll "squire" it away and send
her a copy. Grrr...
